Biography
I think I first fell in love with the art of tattooing after hearing a story my Grandmother told me about her “Uncle Frank” that was covered in tattoos but always wore long sleeves.
I started learning the art and craft of tattooing in 2003 and did my first few pieces that year.
In 2004, with a little training and half an apprenticeship, I started tattooing in a busy street shop where I had to get good, fast.
I was lucky enough to have a lot of trusting and motivating clientele, people that really pushed me as an artist early on and the opportunities to learn from artists in Florida, Texas, and Tennessee.
I take tattooing very seriously and try to take in as many influences as I can. As seriously as I take tattooing, I like tattoos that tell a story, even if that story is hilarious and ensure you will have an experience that is unparalleled.
In early 2010, I opened my own private workspace, Brainwave Tattoo, in an effort to concentrate more on the custom art that my clientele deserve. That same year I was awarded “Best of the Suncoast 2010, Best Tattoo Artist” in the Creative Loafing Magazine Readers Poll.
